Employee Representative Committee

Western Construction Services provides its team members with an opportunity to voice issues through an employee representation committee (ERC). The primary role of the ERC is to offer ideas and feedback to the management of Western Construction Services and to bring forward the views and interests of team members on the development and implementation of work-related policies and terms and conditions of employment. The ERC also acts as an employee change advocate and serves as an internal communications channel between management and team members regarding work related issues.

Career Opportunities

We are currently searching for CONCRETE SUPERVISORS/LEAD HANDS for the upcoming season. A Supervisor's day-to-day duties and responsibilities vary, but some core tasks associated with the role include:

  • Managing Projects.
  • Following blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
  • Supervising and assisting crew members.
  • Preparing and installing concrete.
  • Daily reports and documentation.
  • Preference given to those familiar with concrete surface preparation, formwork, re-bar installation, placing and finishing, waterproofing of new and restored concrete surfaces, and installation of caulking and expansion joints.
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery and possess a valid drivers license.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory position in the construction industry is required.

We are seeking CONCRETE RESTORATION TECHNICIANS/FINISHERS to join our team.

As a Concrete Restoration Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring concrete structures to their original condition. From assessing damage and preparing surfaces to applying repair materials and finishing treatments, you will play a crucial role in revitalizing concrete surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Full Time - $19.50 - $33.50/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of concrete structures to identify areas requiring repair or restoration.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and removing deteriorated concrete, coatings, and contaminants.
  • Select and apply appropriate repair materials, such as epoxy resins, polymer overlays, and cementitious mortars, to restore structural integrity and aesthetic appearance.
  • Utilize specialized equipment and tools, including grinders, saws, and pressure washers, safely and effectively to complete restoration tasks.
  • Perform concrete finishing techniques, including smoothing, texturing, and sealing, to achieve desired surface characteristics and durability.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop and implement effective repair strategies and solutions.
  • Adhere to project schedules and deadlines, communicating any delays or challenges to project management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and project progress.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in concrete repair and restoration, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete materials, techniques, and best practices for repair and restoration.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to concrete repair, including ACI, ICRI guidelines.
  • Proficiency in operating concrete repair equipment and tools, including grinders, saws, and pumps.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and address concrete issues effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Strong familiarity with construction safety regulations and best practices.
