Employee Representative Committee

Western Construction Services provides its team members with an opportunity to voice issues through an employee representation committee (ERC). The primary role of the ERC is to offer ideas and feedback to the management of Western Construction Services and to bring forward the views and interests of team members on the development and implementation of work-related policies and terms and conditions of employment. The ERC also acts as an employee change advocate and serves as an internal communications channel between management and team members regarding work related issues.

Construction Supervisors

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Construction Supervisors to oversee field operations on our projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role is responsible for supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining project quality and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of crew members and subcontractors
  • Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans and specifications
  • Conduct daily site inspections and toolboxes; enforce WCSI safety standards and procedures
  • Monitor project progress and report updates to project management
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower needs on-site
  • Identify potential issues or delays and proactively resolve them
  • Maintain accurate site documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and time records
  • Support training and development of field staff
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in structural environments
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of provincial OH&S regulations and safety best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read drawings and construction plans
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic construction reporting tools
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites around Winnipeg & Manitoba

Assets:

  • CSTS, First Aid, and other relevant safety certifications
  • Experience with concrete restoration, finishing, or foundation work
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment and related site logistics
